Halloween & Diwali Celebration

Special Assembly on Halloween

Kindergarteners were a part of the special assembly on Halloween on 25th October 2013. The facilitator shared information about the celebration through a power point presentation and artifacts related to the celebration. The students wore head gears made by them and presented a song on Halloween.  They were treated with sweets.

RELATIONSHIPS

As a part of the learning experience of the unit ‘Relationships’ under the transdisciplinary theme ‘Who we are’, students grouped themselves according to the given colour card. They collaboratively decided the structure of their family and the roles and responsibilities within the family. Through the role play they demonstrated the routine followed by the family at different times of the day such as 6 O’ clock and 7 O’ clock. This also helped to reinforce the concept of O’ clock time.

LITERACY WEEK

Primary School celebrated Literacy Week from 9^th September till 13^th September 2013,the theme of which  was ‘Celebrating the authors’. Kindergarten chose to celebrate Norman Bridwell, author famous for writing Clifford story books. Students were read the book ‘Clifford’s First Christmas’. They were involved in creating a story with each student adding their bit to the story, which was scribed by the facilitator. They also illustrated their part of the story. They named the story as ‘Clifford and his friends’. 

Senior School Principal Mr. Arvind Chalasani narrated a story using visual aid.

 Literacy Week culminated with students dressing up as their favourite character.
